Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Ex-Manager Kifano “Shotti” Jordan Has Lawyer Replaced

Written by on December 27, 2018

There’s been a shakeup within Kifano “Shotti” Jordan‘s legal team.

Earlier this week, 6ix9ine’s co-defendant and former manager was in jeopardy of losing a lawyer. According to legal documents, Scott E. Leemon requested to be removed from Shotti’s case because of unpaid legal fees that date back to Nov. 26.

“It has now been several weeks since that appearance and I still have not received payment,” Leemon claimed.

Well, the attorney got his wish. Court documents obtained by Complex confirm Leemon has been relieved of counsel for Shotti, who is facing racketeering charges alongside 6ix9ine. New York officials announced Leemon will be replaced by James Roth, who represented Shotti at his initial court appearance back in November.

“Government counsel is directed to notify Mr. Roth forthwith of this appointment and to advise him of the next scheduled conference in this case (January 22, 2019). Accordingly, Mr. Leemon is relieved as counsel.”

Shotti and 6ix9ine are among a group of suspected gang members who were arrested on a slew of federal charges, including armed robbery and drug trafficking. 6ix9ine has pleaded not guilty and denied allegations he is a member of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods street gang. If convicted on all charges, the 22-year-old faces a maximum life sentence.

6ix9ine’s attorney Lance Lazzaro recently told TMZ that his client will not cut any deals with prosecutors.

“A plea deal is simply off the table, even if the feds offer one,” Lazzaro said.

The rapper’s trial will begin September 2019.
