Believe it or not, we’re getting a new Diplomats album this month. Diplomatic Ties is due Nov. 22 (i.e. Thanksgiving, which is apparently still a holiday), but first, a new single.
Tuesday night, the Diplomats returned with “Sauce Boyz,” produced by the Heatmakerz. Stream the new track up top via YouTube and/or below via Apple Music.
Back in September, Jim Jones teased the new album by sharing a handwritten tracklist-in-progress to Instagram. That move was followed by a Diplomats performance at the A3C Festival in Atlanta alongside Lil Wayne, G Herbo, Wu-Tang Clan, and more.
Next up, Dipset will celebrate the arrival of Diplomatic Ties with a special Black Friday performance at the Apollo Theater. “We are committed to celebrating the legacy of Black music and its effect on popular culture,” Kamilah Forbes, the Apollo’s executive producer, said in a statement last month. “Dipset is a perfect example of a group that started here in Harlem and made an impact on music that lasted decades.”
It’s been 14 years since Dipset’s last studio album, the Koch Records-released Diplomatic Immunity 2. “We grown, we all have families, we getting money,” Jones told Revolt TV back in April when asked about how the then-in-progress recording sessions were going. “The band of brothers used to be [that] we were leaning on each other. We needed each other. All day. Now it’s the same feeling.”
