Three New iPhones Are Reportedly Coming This Year

There are certain events that always come true during the fall season. The Oscar race ramps up, the NBA officially gets underway, and Apple changes the game.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the tech giant is planning to release three new iPhones this year. As is tradition, Apple will release a luxe model of its trademark phone, as well as some more affordable versions.
WSJ has learned that the more expensive iteration of everyone’s favorite smartphone will come equipped with “three rear camera lenses,” while the more wallet-friendly versions will have a “dual-lens camera.”
If you’re not willing to break the bank for the new top-end iPhone, we have some good news. The cheaper version will reportedly come equipped with a LCD screen, just like the iPhone XR, which according to reports is believed to be performing worse than Apple had originally anticipated. And while it may not be as thrilling as the OLED displays on the premium iPhones, it certainly bodes well for the more affordable handset.
As for the pricier new iPhone, Forbes’ Gordon Kelly reports that the successor to the popular XS Max will have one more camera than we’re all used to, a move that’s directly intended to compete with Samsung. There’s no telling what that might ultimately look like, but what we do know is that taking selfies will never be the same again.
Unfortunately, Apple-heads who were expecting a game-changing new model will have to wait until 2020.
