Tom Brady Now Holds All-Time Total Passing Yards Record

Written by on November 25, 2018

During the Patriots’ game against the Jets, Tom Brady completed a four-yard throw to running back Sony Michel. That was good enough for his 79,280th career yard, making him the sole leader in passing yards for both the regular and postseason play. Peyton Manning was the previous record hold with 79,279 yards.

The accomplishment is the latest in a career that includes eight Super Bowl appearances, five Super Bowl wins, a perfect regular season in 2007, and being the winningest quarterback of all-time. Still, Brady is fourth all-time in just regular season passing yards behind Brett Favre (71,838), Peyton Manning (71,940), and Drew Brees (73,580)—who passed Manning this season to gain the record. Brady hasn’t broken 70,000 yet, and at 41 years old, that’s one record he likely isn’t going to top.
