When news of 21 Savage’s ICE arrest broke on Sunday (Feb. 3), many musicians went to social media to speak out against his possible deportation from the United States after it was revealed he was born in the U.K.
However, Demi Lovato wasn’t one of those people, instead using the moment to highlight how much she was enjoying the ‘British 21’ memes surrounding his arrest. She later deleted her tweet and deactivated her Twitter, facing a lot of criticism for making light of the situation. Tory Lanez thinks that everyone is being a bit too hard on the singer, though.
“I’m not feeling this whole coming for Demi Lovato thing B, I’m not feeling it,” he said during an Instagram Live stream. “I’m not feeling it. Some n***as really don’t watch the Super Bowl my n***a? And I’m not gonna lie that shit is wild entertaining n***a. I’m not for this whole coming for Demi Lovato thing.”
It’s unclear how Tory Lanez feels about the situation regarding Savage’s arrest, although his comments would indicate he’s not expressing much in the way of sympathy.
Lovato’s original tweet said, “So far 21 Savage memes have been my favorite part of the Super Bowl.”
Kei Henderson, one of 21 Savage’s co-managers, chimed in on her tweet. “Damn. We was def Demi Lovato fans,” she wrote. “When she was going through her shit, I remember being on the tour bus and Savage said I hope she make it through that shit. People r weird bro.”
