Trae Tha Truth Is Helping Get Houston Flood Victims to Safety

Written by on May 8, 2019

Trae Tha Truth is on the ground in Houston helping residents get to safety amid flooding in the region.

Trae and his Relief Gang organization have trucks in the area for residents in need of rescue as of Tuesday, per a local report from KTRK-TV. One location specifically mentioned was the Woodbridge Forrest Middle School in Porter, where children stranded by the dangerous weather were being transported home to be with their parents.

Footage of the efforts has been shared by Trae and his team to both Trae’s official Instagram account and Relief Gang’s, including a personal message from Trae explaining how best to request their assistance.

“We know there’s a lot of high water areas in the city of Houston right now,” he said Tuesday night. “All it takes is a little bit of rain and everything turns chaotic . . . It’s only day one and it’s already starting to flood, so you can only imagine what it’s going to be like the next few days.”

In a handy commuters guide from The Houston Chronicle, the rainfall between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 1 a.m. Wednesday was estimated to be as high as “more than 12 inches” in some areas, including Sugar Land. The water has caused widespread power outages and blocked roads, with additional flooding likely due to the expected arrival of more storms.
