Tray Savage, a rapper signed to Chief Keef‘s GBE label, was reportedly killed Friday morning while driving in South Side Chicago. He was 26.
The Chicago-Sun Times reports Savage—legal name Kentray Young—was fatally shot at around 11 a.m. after dropping his girlfriend off in the 8100 block of South Evans Avenue. Police say the rapper was hit in the neck and the shoulder, as he proceeded to drive the car before crashing into three other vehicles. Savage was then transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Chi-town rapper SG Batman confirmed the tragedy in a tweet Friday afternoon:
Witnesses reportedly told police they “saw a white SUV, possibly a Mazda” around the area of the shooting. Authorities are investigating the case, but have yet to take any suspects into custody. Stay tuned for further developments.
Savage was best known for “Chiefin Keef,” his 2013 collaboration with the GBE boss. His other notable tracks include, “Just Wanna” with SD and “Who the Shit” with late Chicago rapper Fredo Santana, who co-owns GBE.
