Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal Says Elon Musk Has Decided Not to Join Board

Elon Musk will not be joining the board at Twitter after all.
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal confirmed the news in a tweeted statement on Sunday night, noting that the SpaceX founder still remains the largest shareholder in the company.
“Elon Musk has decided not to join our board,” Agrawal, who was named CEO last November following Jack Dorsey’s resignation, said in a statement addressed to the Twitter team. Elsewhere, Agrawal said there were “many discussions” surrounding Musk’s potential joining of the board, with current members having been “excited to collaborate” with him.
“Elon’s appointment to the board was to become officially effective 4/9, but Elon shared that same morning that he will no longer be joining the board,” Agrawal said. “I believe this is for the best. We have and will always value input from our shareholders whether they are on our Board or not.”

Over the weekend, shared a number of Twitter-focused tweets, including thoughts on tweaking Twitter Blue and converting the company’s headquarters into a homeless shelter. The latter idea received support from Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, who previously received hot tub discipline advice from the Tesla CEO.
Last week, Musk marked the opening of a new Tesla factory in Texas with the Cyber Rodeo event, which was streamed to the company’s YouTube page.
