Two MCU Characters Look Into Thanos’ Snap After Surviving ‘Infinity War’ in New Book

Finally, you can sleep well at night knowing that Erik Selvig and Darcy Lewis survived Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Infinity War. If you’re struggling to figure out why those two names sound so familiar, let us jog your memory. Selvig and Lewis were portrayed by Stellan Skarsgård and Kat Dennings, respectively, in Thor and Thor: The Dark World.
Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe managed to change course with the Thor franchise through 2017’s Ragnarok where neither character is mentioned, a new book is revisiting their story, starting with the revelation that the two were part of the world population that didn’t suffer the wrath of the Infinity Gauntlet.
Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Quest, Volume 2: Aftermath explores what Selvig and Lewis plan to do now, and how it could led into the fourth installment of Avengers coming next year. Author Brandon T. Snider posted a photo of the book, along with a short synopsis.
Here’s what it says on the back of the book:
A deadly threat emerged from the cosmos – and it was fulfilled. In the wake of Thanos’s horrifying success, the people of Earth are left reeling in despair and confusion. Without any logical explanation for the blip-out event, those remaining must pick up the pieces.
Doctor Erik Selvig and his associate Darcy Lewis are determined to find and understand the cause of the devastation. With a team of friends both old and new, they embark on a pursuit of knowledge, eager to discover the links between their own pasts and the stones that decimated half of humanity – the Infinity Stones. Little do they know that a new foe who threatens to destroy them all is looming…
Whether their pursuit to “find and understand the cause of the devastation” has some sort of connection to Avengers 4 remains to be seen.
The upcoming Avengers 4 movie will arrive in theaters on May 3, 2019.
