Two Men Arrested After Mask Confrontation Leads to Employee’s Broken Arm

A pair of men who refused to wear masks after entering a Target have now been arrested after said refusal resulted in them getting into a fight with some security guards who approached them about it.
The incident actually happened on May 1, but surveillance video of it is just now surfacing. The clip appears to show two men, later reported to be transients who are also brothers, walking into a Los Angeles County Target without anything to cover their faces. As some of you may know, this is a recipe for a confrontation and calling out session, with varying public humiliation levels.
The men were confronted by security and asked to mask up, but that had no effect, so they were led out of the building until one of them opted to turn around and assault an employee. Cue the surveillance footage:
This brawl reportedly led to a broken arm for one of the retail workers. At the time the suspects were able to successfully flee, but that ended this past weekend when they were apprehended.
They have since been identified as 31-year-old Phillip Hamilton and 29-year-old Paul Hamilton. They face charges of felony battery, and each of them had bail set at $50,000.
A tweet was sent out by the local sheriff’s department asking that customers please not beat the shit out of retail workers. That’s not what they wrote word-for-word, but it’s close enough and is also a fair request.
“Please don’t take it out on businesses and their employees when it comes to wearing face coverings,” they said. “They are trying to uphold the regulations governing their business being allowed to be open. They are having a rough time too.”
