Tyler Perry Leaves Massive $21,000 Tip For Atlanta Restaurant Employees

On Sunday, Tyler Perry made an effort to boost the bank accounts for restaurant employees who’ve seen their bottom lines plummet due to the coronavirus’ economic destruction.
In slightly less dramatic parlance, that means he gave out $21,000 in tips to workers at a Houston’s restaurant in Atlanta. TMZ reports that the five-figure gratuity amounted to $500 each for 42 employees. Note that, while nearly all industries are taking a beating, restaurants (and the hospitality business, in general) have been especially hard hit by the moratorium on public gatherings.
TMZ adds that Perry’s a supporter of the chain and that he frequents the particular location that got this sum.
This is not the first time a major tip of the coronavirus-combating kind has made headlines, as others have acquired media attention for helping the industry out during a dire situation that has seen employees go out of work or log a lack of hours (not to mention the lighter tips that have from them not serving). Obviously it helps to be affluent to pull this off.
TMZ, clearly impressed with Perry’s gesture, further adds that the entertainer/writer/director had a plane with supplies flown down to the Bahamas after that Caribbean nation was ravaged by Hurricane Dorian last year.
