Unleashing PUMA LQDCELL Optic’s Powers With Illustrator Jeff Cole

Written by on July 26, 2019

ILLUSTRATOR JEFF COLE CONSTRUCTS THE ULTIMATE
SUPERSUIT BASED ON THE PUMA LQDCELL “OPTIC”

Propelled by blockbuster movies and limited-edition releases, the comic and sneaker industries, respectively, have never been more relevant. Aside from their shared popularity, however, these two cultural obsessions would appear void of many similarities. Enter Jeff Cole.

Raised in Chicago and currently based out of Los Angeles, the IKONICK co-founder and visual artist seamlessly (and literally) draws endless parallels between your favorite superheroes, pop culture characters, and the most sought after sneaker grails on the market to produce distinctive digital art pieces. His consistent output combined with his knack for developing timely content, which consists primarily of morphing sneakers into headgear, has enabled him to garner more than half a million followers on Instagram

Even the best, most successful artists crave new challenges. To push the boundaries of Cole’s comfort zone, we tasked him with building a full, customized supersuit, helmet and all, based on Puma’s brand new silhouette, the PUMA LQDCELL “Optic.” Everything from the sneaker’s translucent layers and dynamic color scheme, to its ’90s-inspired silhouette and innovative LQDCELL technology are represented in Cole’s one-of-a-kind renderings.

Peep what the illustrator cooked up for us below and check out what he has to say about his creative process.
