Vic Mensa’s 93PUNX Band Playing ‘F*ck ICE’ Protest Show at ICE Headquarters

Written by on August 30, 2019

Vic Mensa recently shared the self-titled debut project of his new band 93PUNX, and now the group is throwing a protest at ICE headquarters. On Sept. 2, 93PUNX will play what they’re calling a “Fuck ICE” concert at the Downtown Los Angeles headquarters, with Mensa announcing the “guerrilla performance” on his Instagram.

While details are currently slim, the promotional poster for the protest gig features the slogan “Rock for children’s rights.” It’s not clear if there will be any other artists at the show, but Mensa has invited all of his fans to meet with them outside the ICE headquarters at 4 p.m. on Monday.

ICE has received criticism for its aggressive tactics to deport and detain undocumented or “unlawful” immigrants. Earlier this month, an 11-year-old girl named Magdalena made a tearful plea to the Trump administration to be reunited with her parents. “My dad didn’t do nothing,” she said. “He’s not a criminal.”

The debut project from 93PUNX released on Aug. 23 and features performances from Tom Morello, Good Charlotte, and Francis and the Lights among others. It was executive produced by Travis Barker of blink-182.

Shortly after the protest show in Los Angeles, 93PUNX will head out on a brief North American tour. Check out the full list of dates below.
