Victoria Beckham Insists She Won’t Make Cameo During Spice Girls Tour

Victoria Beckham wants to make it clear: She will “definitely not” appear on the upcoming Spice Girls tour.
Back in November, the iconic 1990s girl group announced they were hitting the road for a U.K. trek. It was great news for fans who’ve been holding their breath for a proper reunion tour; but the excitement was quickly dulled after it was confirmed Beckham, aka Posh Spice, would not participate.
The 44-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer broke the news via Instagram, writing: “I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour.”
Fans refused to give up hope. Many speculated that Beckham would make a cameo sometime during the tour. These rumors were fueled by Mel “Scary” Brown back in December.
“Hopefully she (Beckham) sends us her blessing,” Brown told the BBC, “and we’re all in contact with her quite frequently so I’m hoping, you know, it will be all five of us.”
Beckham insisted that wasn’t going to happen.
She reiterated her decision during a recent interview with The Guardian reported Jess Cartner-Morley, who brought up the rumored guest appearance.
“No. Definitely not,” Beckham said. “Was that a difficult decision? Not at all. What I do now is my passion and a full-time job. I’m excited to see it, though. And I’m sure when I’m there and they are on stage, there will be a part of me that feels a bit left out. Because even after all this, a part of me will always be a Spice Girl.”
So, there you have it.
The last time all five Spice Girls performed together was in 2012 for the Summer Olympic Games’ closing ceremony.
The other four members—Mel B, Emma “Baby” Bunton, Geri “Ginger” Halliwell, and Mel “Sporty” Chisholm—will kick off the reunion tour May 24 in Dublin, Ireland. Learn more about the concerts, including ticket information, at the Spice Girls’ official website.
