DaBaby reached new heights in 2019, nabbing multiple Grammy nominations, collaborating with hip-hop heavyweights, and delivering not one, but two full-length projects—his major label debut Baby on Baby and the chart-topping studio album Kirk. This weekend, the “Suge” rapper continued his momentum by serving as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, marking his first-ever appearance on the iconic sketch show.
The episode was hosted by Hustlers star Jennier Lopez.

The gig capped off an eventful week for the Charlotte rapper, who is currently on tour with Stunna 4 Vegas. On Thursday, DaBaby was scheduled to appear at the Power98 Winter Block Party with Megan Thee Stallion and Fetty Wap, but missed the show due to technical issues with his jet. The rapper was understandably pissed, especially because the concert took place in his hometown.
“I’m mad as hell,” he said on Instagram. “I’m sorry Charlotte … Maintenance issue on this weak ass jet. Night of the hometown show.”
Though he couldn’t be there in-person, DaBaby wasn’t going to leave fans hanging. Shortly after he announced the disappointing news, DaBaby performed his set for the audience via FaceTime.
