Watch Jay-Z Refuse to Sign a Bootleg Record: ‘That One Ain’t Even Real’

Jay-Z has no problem putting fans on blast. Case in point: this embarrassing interaction that took place in New York City.
In a recent video shared by the Hollywood Fix, Hov is seen greeting a group of fans outside his Chelsea office. Members of the crowd ask Jay to sign copies of his records, including The Blueprint, The Black Album, In My Lifetime Vol. 1, and Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter. The East Coat legend, of course, obliges and begins to go down the line, autographing each vinyl while another fan shows off his rapping skills in the backdrop.
“Alright guys, that’s it. Two more,” Hov said, before he abruptly stops himself from signing the last record. “That one ain’t even real.”
Jay then turns his back to the fan and seemingly makes his way to the car.
The album in question appeared to be The Black Album Revisited, an authorized project released by the Japanese imprint Big Ghost Ltd. It’s unclear if the fan had knowingly presented a bootleg album, but it’s safe to say they won’t make the mistake again.

A similar incident took place in 2021, when a fan tried to get Hov to sign a baseball. The Grammy winner was understandably confused by the request, and ultimately refused to give the woman his signature.
“I don’t play baseball,” he said, before entering his SUV.
