Watch Meek Mill’s Son Freestyle at a Philadelphia Club

Meek Mill worked his way up through battle rap and independent mixtapes to eventually become one of the biggest names in rap music. Should his son decide to follow in his father’s footsteps, he’ll probably have it quite a bit easier. However, that doesn’t mean that Rihmeek doesn’t have a bit of his father’s skills. The 9-year-old stole the show at a Meek Mill appearance at Philadelphia club NOTO, jumping on the mic to entertain an enthusiastic crowd. Check it out below.
The news this week has been incredibly positive for Meek Mill. A 2008 conviction that dogged the rapper for years was overturned by a panel of judges who suspected police corruption in the original arrest. Meek’s attorney explained the situation Mill is currently in as he awaits a the District Attorney’s decision to drop the case or try it again.
“Meek is not a convicted felon. He has no conviction on his record,” Jordan Siev said. “The best way to describe it is it’s the equivalent of the point in time where he had been arrested but had not yet been tried and convicted.”
Siev added that Meek hopes to use his situation to amplify problems with the criminal justice system via his Reform Alliance initiative.
“If you look at this situation, since he was 19 years old, Meek was wrongly accused, wrongly convicted, wrongly sent to jail several times. And all throughout, his approach has been consistent, including on visits I had with him while he was in prison,” he said. “He has the visibility and the means to deal with it. There are a lot of people caught up in the system that don’t have that visibility and don’t have that means. So Meek always wanted to use this as an opportunity to shine a light on those people and help them out.”
