Snoop Dogg arrived in Scotland on Thursday to begin the European leg of his I Wanna Thank Me arena tour.
The Long Beach rapper was welcomed to Scotland by a bagpiper who played Snoop his 1999 collaboration with Dr. Dre, “Still D.R.E.” The Death Row Records boss took to Instagram to share a video of the moment, which featured Snoop busting some moves as the bagpiper played the classic tune.
“Just touched down in Scotland,” he captioned the post.
Snoop’s I Wanna Thank Me arena tour will see him headline shows in Scotland and Denmark before he takes on London’s O2 Arena on March 21. The shows will include performances from Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Obie Trice and D12.
The European tour arrives just a week after Snoop brought the Death Row Records catalog back to streaming services.
The 51-year-old recently teamed with former Apple global creative director Larry Jackson and his new billion-dollar-funded media company Gamma. Billboard reports the recently formed brand “quietly acquired a stake in the Death Row Records catalog” from Snoop in December. It’s described as a “long-term partnership” which will include two forthcoming Snoop LPs and eventually see the rights revert back to him after “we work together to enrich the value of the IP,” Jackson said.
“We heard you. The time has come. Death Row Records catalog is back streaming everywhere tonight 9pm PST,” Snoop wrote last Friday on Twitter, announcing the return of Death Row.
