It’s been a good year for Steve Lacy.
While riding the success of his sophomore studio album, the Grammy-nominated artist confirmed he would make his Saturday Night Live debut on Nov. 5. Lacy announced the big news via Twitter last week, less than a month after he kicked off his world tour.
“Good news is..swipe right..,” he wrote, directing followers to the SNL sticky note announcement. “Bad news is.. i have to move some shows around for me to do it 😭 more information soon sorry in advance luv u.”
Though the tour reshuffle understandably upset some fans, Lacy’s SNL gig may alleviate that disappointment. The 24-year-old singer-songwriter treated audiences to a performance of “Bad Habit”, which appeared on his latest album, Gemini Rights.
The Internet guitarist dropped Gemini Rights—the follow-up to 2019’s Apollo XXI—on July 15. The project delivered 10 tracks, including the singles “Mercury,” “Sunshine,” and “Bad Habit”; the latter of which marked Lacy’s first entry into the Billboard 100 and his first record to hit No. 1. It remained atop the chart for three weeks, until it was dethroned by Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy.”
