Watch the First Teaser for ‘The Penguin’ Series Starring Colin Farrell

The teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated The Batman spin-off series The Penguin starring Colin Farrell has arrived.
Set in the aftermath of Matt Reeves’ 2022 film, the series sees the return of Farrell as mob boss Oswald Cobblepot as he attempts to overtake Gotham’s underworld. The teaser showcases footage from the series alongside brief behind-the-scenes looks at the production. It also maintains the brooding, dark look of the Robert Pattinson-starring movie.
The Penguin also stars Cristin Milioti as Carmine Falcone’s daughter Sofia Falcone, Michael Zegen as Carmine’s son Alberto Falcone, and Clancy Brown as former top gangster Salvatore Maroni. The supporting cast is rounded out by Michael Kelly, Rhenzy Feliz, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Carmen Ejogo, François Chau, and David H. Holmes.
Matt Reeves is on board as an executive producer, while fellow exec producer Craig Zobel will direct the first three episodes of the series. Zobel previously directed all seven episodes of the HBO limited series Mare of Easttown, and the satirical horror thriller The Hunt. Farrell is also serving as an executive producer alongside Dylan Clark, Daniel Pipski, and Bill Carraro.
The teaser was revealed as part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s presentation of upcoming content on Wednesday. As reported by Variety, the company plans to change the name of its streaming service from HBO Max to just Max. The rebranded service will be available starting May 23, but The Penguin won’t be hitting Max until sometime in 2024. The Batman, Part II, meanwhile, is scheduled to land in theaters on Oct. 3, 2025.
