Universal Pictures has shared the first trailer for Jurassic World Dominion, the final entry in the Chris Pratt/Bryce Dallas Howard-led trilogy of dinosaur films.
The new Dominion trailer opens with a voiceover from Richard Attenborough as John Hammond, the creator of the titular Jurassic Park in Steven Spielberg’s 1993 original. Among the returning cast is Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm, Sam Neill as Alan Grant, and Laura Dern as Ellie Sattler. B.D. Wong, who has appeared in both the Park and World movies, also reprises his role as Henry Wu.
Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the latest Jurassic World serves as the follow-up to 2018’s Fallen Kingdom, which saw dinosaurs auctioned off to the wealthy on the mainland.
“We’re racing toward the extinction of our species,” warns Goldblum’s Malcolm in the trailer. “We not only lack dominion over nature, we’re subordinate to it.”
Taking place four years after the events of the previous film, Isla Nublar has been destroyed and dinosaurs once again roam the earth freely. Needless to say, it’s not looking good for humanity.
Due to arrive in theaters on June 10, 2022, Dominion has been subjected to numerous COVID-19-related delays. Production was halted all the way back in March 2020, before it resumed months later. Director and co-writer Trevorrow shared a five-minute prologue to the film last year, originally premiering the short alongside screenings of F9. Trevorrow said he intended for the prologue to be the opening five minutes of the film, but ultimately changed his mind.
