Watch the New Trailer for ‘Pet Sematary’
Written by SOURCE on February 7, 2019
Back in October 2018, we finally received our first look at the new Pet Sematary film, which is just around the corner now.
The film is set to premiere at the SXSW film festival in March before its full release this April, and to build up hype for the Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer-directed horror flick, Paramount Pictures has unleashed the second trailer.
Based on Stephen King’s 1983 novel of the same name, Pet Sematary stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow. Pet Sematary received its first film version back in 1989, with the Mary Lambert-directed adaption. Besides from a few location changes and a shift in tone, the 2019 Pet Sematary looks to stick pretty closely to its source material. In the newly released trailer, we get a closer look at some of the horrors that await Dr. Louis Creed and his family by way of a certain “charming little landmark.”
For those up on their King catalog, you’ll recognize some reworked classic moments—i.e. “Sometimes dead is better”—among the latest glimpse at the 2019 adaptation.
The new version of Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed as he makes his move from Boston to the middle-of-nowhere in Maine, bringing his family along during the relocation process. Upon moving to to Maine, Creed and his family discover a burial ground in the woods near their new home. In other words, it promises to be every bit as spooky as the original novel and film.
Watch the new trailer for the film above, and be sure to catch it when it hits theaters on April 5. Also this year, we’ll be getting the follow-up to the excellent 2017 film take on King’s clown-promoting megaclassic It.
