These prescient words arrive early into the new trailer for Matt Reeves’ The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson in the title role and representing the latest cinematic overhaul of the iconic DC character.
The new trailer, released as part of Saturday’s DC FanDome event, opens with a mood-setting sequence in which Paul Dano’s serial killer—i.e. Riddler—is seen being arrested at a diner in the dark of the night by a swarm of cops. Left on the diner counter as Dano’s character puts his hands up, appropriately, is a question mark in the form of latte foam art.
