HBO Max has shared the trailer for a new documentary about Larry David.
The Larry David Story will take a look at the comedian, writer, actor, director, and television producer’s career, from his stand-up days to co-creating Seinfeld and starring in his own show, Curb Your Enthusiasm.
“I am a total fraud, and the Curb outlet for me is this guy I wanna be,” David says in the trailer. “He’s completely, completely honest, just the opposite of who I am. And it’s a thrill. I got lucky, I’ll leave it at that.”
The documentary arrives on March 1 in two parts: “American Jewboy,” which follows his childhood as an “unfunny Brooklyn kid,” and “The Jewish Fountainhead,” where “America’s favorite misanthrope” is born, per a press release.
“For over three decades, award-winning producer/writer/comedian Larry David has been one of TV’s defining talents. Now, this insightful two-part documentary finds the 74-year-old sitting down with friend/director Larry Charles for a peek behind the proverbial curtain, as David gets candid about his personal and professional highs and lows,” the description continues.
Seinfeld and Curb director Charles is the director and executive producer behind The Larry David Story. Beyond the entertainment business, the pair discuss metaphysics, parenthood, and more.
This weekend, David also appeared in a Super Bowl commercial for the FTX app, which allows you to buy and sell cryptocurrency and NFTs.
