Watch the Trailers for ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 10 and ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Season 5

It was a heavy news day for fans of The Walking Dead.

During the series’ panel discussion at San Diego Comic-Con, AMC revealed the first trailer for Season 10, which finds fan-favorite characters teaming up with fresh faces in a battle against The Whisperers—a villainous group of survivors who conceal themselves in zombie skin.

“In Season 10, we’re still finding new ways to explore the story,” showrunner Angela Kang told the audience. “We’re getting into a whole different style of war … The Whisperers are a really different type of enemy. We’re going to see what it’s like to be in a Whisper war.”

Actress Danai Gurira, who has played Michone since Season 3, also confirmed reports she was leaving the AMC series.

“I’d just like to say that this has been one of the purest joys of my life, to play this role and be amongst these people,” the Black Panther star told the Comic-Con audience. “I will say my heart does not leave in any way, shape or form. It was about my calling, in a sense, and other things I feel called to, so all I’m filled with is a lot of pain about leaving and a lot of gratitude. TWD family is forever.”

The Walking Dead Season 10 will return to AMC on Oct. 6. Check out the trailer above.

AMC also dropped some big Fear the Walking Dead news. The network announced the spinoff series had been renewed for a sixth season, and also shared a trailer for the second half of Season 5. FTWD‘s midseason finale airs this Sunday, and will return to the small screen on Aug. 11.

Fans also received some details about the third series of The Walking Dead franchise. The show will begin production next week in Virginia, and will star Annet Mahendru as Huck, Aliyah Royale as Iris, Alexa Mansour as Hope, Nicolas Cantu as Elton, and Hal Cumpston as Silas.

The series will center “on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse,” and the ways the new world has shaped their identities—both good and evil. We’ll keep you updated as more information about the spinoff becomes available.

Oh, but that’s not all. Universal Pictures also released the first trailer for the highly anticipated Walking Dead feature film. The 24-second clip didn’t reveal much about the movie’s storyline; however, it confirmed an exclusive theatrical release as well as the return of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), who left the show in 2018.
