Watch the Video for G Herbo’s “Intro”

G Herbo continues to ride the success of PTSD by releasing a video for the album’s introduction.
The rapper dropped the visual for “Intro” on Friday. Like the theme of his album, PTSD, the rapper recounts the life of a person through traumatic flashbacks. The video walks viewers through the child’s introduction to drug dealing, to the first murder he witnessed, and more. While doing so, the visual jumps back to Herbo, who is spitting a flurry of bars in the cold, Chicago night.
“Intro” has become a fan favorite for several reasons. The track creates nostalgia by sampling the JAY-Z’s introduction to Roc-A-Fella’s The Dynasty album. “Intro” also gives Herbo the freedom to partially forgo song structure and bombard fans with lyrics. This, in turn, evokes the feeling Herbo’s core fans felt when they were first introduced to the fresh-faced rapper.
PTSD was released in February 2020 and features 21 Savage, Juice WRLD, A Boogie, and others. The album went on to be a critical and commercial success, giving Herbo his first top 10 Billboard finish.
