Watch Travis Scott Perform “Stop Trying to Be God” and “No Bystanders” at the 2019 Grammys

Written by on February 11, 2019

Travis Scott has just delivered another high-profile performance.

Exactly one week after appearing in the Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show, the Houston rapper took the stage at the 2019 Grammy Awards. Surprisingly, Scott didn’t perform his nominated track “Sicko Mode,” but instead delivered a solid performance of “Stop Trying to Be God” and “No Bystanders.” You can check out his set—featuring James Blake, Philip Bailey, Mike Dean, and Earth, Wind & Fire—above.

Scott has been riding high since the 2018 release of ASTROWORLD—the chart-topping project that secured Scott his very first Grammy nominations as a lead artist. The rapper was named in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance categories for “Sicko Mode,” featuring Drake, Big Hawk, and Swae Lee; as well as Best Rap Album. The 26-year-old spoke about his Grammys recognition in a recent interview with Billboard.

“Maybe people are getting more attuned, tapping more into this generation and the youthfulness of music,” he said. “It’s so diverse and so spread across the U.S., the world and all different types of genres. Kids are driving it, so it’s showing what they’re listening to. It’s dope to see a mix of different people get more recognized for their music now.”
