Weed Company Is Offering Free Medical Marijuana to Federal Workers Impacted by Shutdown

Written by on January 24, 2019

BudTrader.com is looking to help federal employees impacted by the government shutdown by giving out free medical marijuana, the Hill reports

BudTrader.com, an online marijuana marketplace which is sometimes referred to as the “Craigslist of weed,” says it’s partnering with an attorney to “ensure that all cannabis donations given to federal employees are confidential and compliant with California Cannabis adult use laws and regulations.”

The partial shutdown, which has now been going on for over a month, is affecting around 800,000 federal workers and their paychecks.

“I don’t think federal employees are getting enough love and support, in these tough times, we want to extend the offer of a donation of medical cannabis to any federal worker affected by the shutdown,” BudTrader CEO Brad McLaughlin said via a press release, per the Hill.

The company joins a long list of others who have come forward to help workers impacted by the shutdown. The Hill points out that “more than 1,500 campaigns” related to the shutdown have been opened on GoFundMe.

“To any Federal Employee unable to pay for their medical cannabis due to the Government shutdown, BudTrader will donate to you the allowable, legal, limit according to California adult use rules and regulations to help ease your suffering in this difficult time,” BudTrader.com wrote on their Facebook page this past Monday. “The donation will be completely confidential. For more information please visit BudTrader.com. God Bless all Federal Employees, God Bless the Cannabis Community and God Bless the United States of America.”
