Wendy Williams Biopic Will Span Topics Like Sex, Fat Shaming, Drugs, Date Rape

TMZ reports that Lifetime’s forthcoming Wendy Williams biopic will cover ages 10 to 55, spanning topics like her coke habit, fat-shaming from her family, and an untold story of date rape by a chart-topping artist. Lifetime sources also reveal that the biopic will include her experiences with racism and sexism in Hollywood and details about her marriage and divorce from Kevin Hunter.
Williams is producing the biopic, titled Just Wendy. It’s being directed by Will Packer, and Williams and Leigh Davenport are writing the script. Williams told TMZ that she wants the actors to be fairly unknown so they don’t detract from her story—and that there will be at least two different Wendy’s in the move, and neither of them will be Williams.
In January, news surfaced that Williams’ husband had allegedly gotten his mistress pregnant. She subsequently took a break from her talk show for two months, but said the reason was due to health complications. She resumed her show in March, and not long after, announced her divorce from Hunter. The two married in 1997 and had one son, Kevin Hunter Jr.
Just Wendy is set to air next year on Lifetime.
