Wendy Williams: Nicki Minaj Marriage ‘Ruined Everything About What Your Brand Could Be’

Wendy Williams has reignited her feud with Nicki Minaj by slamming the rapper for marrying a man who was recently indicted for failing to register as a sex offender in California.
Williams touched on the subject during her show on Tuesday, saying she didn’t have enough time to discuss his arrest at length and that she would return to it on Wednesday.
After erroneously referring to Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty as the rapper’s brother, and correcting herself, Williams said, “That’s going to be my first story tomorrow, and I’m going to lead with this: You should’ve never married him, because now you’ve ruined everything about what your brand could be, again. You’re never gonna stand a chance when you’re with a man who pulls a knife at rape point…a molester…a registered sex offender. You’re never going to stand a chance with the public. Because there’s only one thing worse than touching children and pulling knives, and that’s murder. By the way, he did go to jail for manslaughter.”
Williams continued, “Oops, I think I just did the story. Nope, nope, nope, get to digging. There’s more on him, everybody get to digging.”
Last week, news surfaced that Petty had been arrested for not registering as a sex offender. On March 9, TMZ reported that he had successfully registered following his arrest. Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995 and in 2006, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. He was released from New York state prison in 2013 after serving a seven-year sentence.
Williams wrongly referred to Petty as Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, who is in jail for 25 years to life for child rape charges.
Williams has been critical of Minaj and Petty’s marriage before. In November, the rapper blasted Williams on Queen Radio for comments she made about Petty’s criminal history.
“It’s not about doing your job,” Minaj said in November. “There are people who report the news and there are people who do it with an evil intent in their heart, viciousness. And I pray for you because I know you’re hurting and I know you must be sick and humiliated.”
She went on, “I didn’t know that in our society, you have to be plagued by your past. I didn’t know that people can’t turn over a new leaf. I didn’t know that your viciousness and evilness was this deep-rooted.”
