What’s Dropping at NBA All Star Weekend: Don C, Virgil Abloh & More

NBA All Star Weekend has become one of the biggest moments of the year for limited sneaker releases. But as it continues to grow even more, the festivities have also become a premier destination for clothing drops as well. Given the heavy amout of creatives from this year’s host city of Chicago, 2020 will be no different.
Fans can look forward to exclusive product from Don C and Levi’s, Joe Freshgoods and New Balance, Virgil Abloh and Jordan Brand, RSVP Gallery, Eric Emanuel, Mitchell and Ness, Rhude’s Rhuigi Villaseñor, and more. For anyone not able to make it to the Windy City this week, there are also a handful of great releases from Tom Sachs, Noah, and Irak.

Jordan Brand ‘Chicago Collaborators’ Collection

To celebrate All Star Weekend, Jordan Brand decided to tap eight Chicago creatives to design special edition sneakers and apparel inspired by the city. Pieces will include tie-dye hoodies and long sleeve T-shirts by artist Cody Hudson, graphic T-shirts by Drew the Barber emblazoned with ’80s Chicago transit tokens, and vibrant hoodies from the videographers at Lyrical Lemonade. Other apparel will be available from local designer Sheila Rashid, Chance the Rapper’s SocialWorks, local boutique SucceZZ, and four student designers selected from the Jordan Wings program. The highlight for many will be a capsule designed by Virgil Abloh to match his highly-anticipated Air Jordan V.
Levi’s x Just Don

Levi’s has tapped Don C to create a capsule for All Star Weekend. The result is a black trucker jacket with a large velvet graphic on the back, and a bleached denim tracksuit inspired by ’90s NBA warm ups–complete with a velvet blue chevron and red piping details as a nod to the Chicago flag. Official NBA logos and Just Don branding act as finishing touches on each item.
Courvoisier by Rhuigi

As part of Courvoisier Cognac’s Maison Courvoisier pop-up curated by Pusha T, Rhude’s Rhuigi Villaseñor has designed a small capsule of apparel. Pieces include a black varsity jacket, silk button-down shirt, and a pair of his signature Traxedo pants.
Starter 2020 NBA All Star Jacket

Starter has crafted special edition satin bomber jackets to commemorate NBA All Star Weekend. Two versions are available, one inspired by the Chicago flag and the other a clear nod to the Chicago Bulls. Both have “Chicago” arched across the chest, striped sleeves, and official NBA All Star logos on the right sleeve and back.
Mitchell and Ness x Jordan Brand Warm Up Jackets

Jordan Brand and Mitchell and Ness have joined forces for a collab that pays homage to the last time the NBA All Star Game was hosted in Chicago in 1988. Red/black and white/blue colorways are both available. Each shares details like Jumpman and “23” branding stamped on the chest, official Bulls logos on the sleeves, and a large portrait of Michael Jordan dunking across the back accompanied by a Bulls logo and ’88 All-Star branding.
Eric Emanuel x New York Sunshine Shorts

You knew Eric Emanuel had to make some exclusive shorts to celebrate All Star Weekend. Teased earlier this week via Instagram, both colorways feature a pinstriped styling. One opts for the Bulls black and red color palette, while the other uses the traditional red, white, and blue combination frequently seen on All Star team jerseys. Emanuel’s signature “EE” logo dons the left leg, while a sun graphic inspired by Dennis Rodman represents New York Sunshine on the opposite leg.
DON’T BE MAD x New Balance

While the New Balance 992 has received the most attention, Joe Freshgoods’ DON’T BE MAD has also collaborated on a matching collection of apparel for the release as well. Pieces include pink hoodies with “DON’T BE MAD” printed across the chest, tie-dyed sweatpants, red long sleeve T-shirts with cupid imagery, T-shirts that read “No Emotions Are Emotions,” and more.
Mountain Dew x RSVP Gallery

StockX has collaborated with Don C, Awake NY, Union Los Angeles, Melody Ehsani, Hebru Brantley, and Vic Mensa on a series of special apparel. Each design will be available for purchase after making a $10 donation to the Common Ground Foundation, Common’s organization that provides mentoring programs in various fields to high school students.

New York City-based graffiti crew and streetwear brand Irak, who recently got a hefty cosign from Virgil Abloh at New York Fashion Week, is launching its latest collection on Thursday. Various logos designs have been applied to Champion Reverse Weave hoodies, crewnecks, and T-shirts.
