It’s been a productive year for Wiz Khalifa—and we’re only a few weeks in.
Since the beginning of 2020, the Pittsburgh rapper has dropped a number of singles, including “Real Rappers Rap,” “Sk8 Sounds” and “Gutter Rainbow” with fellow Rostrum artist Boaz. And it appears Wiz is refusing to give up that momentum.
This week, the Taylor Gang boss linked up with Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Yachty, and Sueco the Child on a new single called “Speed Me Up.” The song will land on the motion picture soundtrack for Sonic the Hedgehog, which is set to hit theaters next month.
“Left my heart and my soul, you see that I ran/Rings of gold and awards sit on my nightstand,” Wiz raps in the chorus. “Take my life, I made it so far away/Free my struggles, detach me from this island/Leave my knuckles, attack me for my finance/Where I’m headed to, it seems too far away.”
You can stream “Speed Me Up,” produced by Take a Daytrip, on Apple Music and via Spotify below. Sonic the Hedgehog will premiere in the U.S. on Feb. 14. The film stars Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Ben Schwartz, who voices the titular character.
