{"id":116227,"date":"2021-09-19T06:50:20","date_gmt":"2021-09-19T06:50:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/freshestfm.com\/billie-eilish-speaks-on-media-damaging-her-self-confidence\/"},"modified":"2021-09-19T06:50:28","modified_gmt":"2021-09-19T06:50:28","slug":"billie-eilish-speaks-on-media-damaging-her-self-confidence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/freshestfm.com\/billie-eilish-speaks-on-media-damaging-her-self-confidence\/","title":{"rendered":"Billie Eilish Speaks on Media Damaging Her Self-Confidence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Despite her absolutely explosive year,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\/tag\/billie-eilish\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Billie Eilish<\/a>\u00a0admitted to still struggling with her own self-confidence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Friday\u2019s episode of\u00a0<em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.complex.com\/tag\/drew-barrymore\" rel=\"noopener\">The Drew Barrymore Show<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0Eilish caught up with the former child star, who seemed particularly well-equipped to understand Eilish\u2019s current plight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know I\u2018ve always been very, very\u00a0strong-willed and honest, which I think is like a blessing and a curse,\u201d\u00a0Billie told Barrymore.\u00a0\u201cThe funny thing is that the older I\u2019ve gotten, the less confident I\u2018ve gotten and it kind of made me like\u2014because I re-watched the doc a few weeks ago, and\u00a0it made me cry\u00a0because I was thinking how free-spirited I was and how open-minded I was, and then it\u2019s like the media just like tears it away from you\u2026\u00a0It\u2018s not fun right now\u00a0so I\u2019m trying to&#8230;I\u2018m figuring it out.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBelieve me, I get it,\u201d\u00a0Barrymore replied. \u201cI have such faith that you will because even when you are struggling, you are aware of the struggle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Eilish didn\u2019t reference anything specifically, it\u2019s easy to fathom just how trying it must be to have the eyes of the world on you at all times.<\/p>\n<p>The price of fame is something Eilish has continued to dissect, like in her interview with\u00a0<a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\/tag\/stormzy\" rel=\"noopener\">Stormzy<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/i-d.vice.com\/en_uk\/article\/qj85y3\/billie-eilish-stormzy-interview\" rel=\"noopener\">fall cover of\u00a0<\/a><em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/i-d.vice.com\/en_uk\/article\/qj85y3\/billie-eilish-stormzy-interview\" rel=\"noopener\">i-D<\/a>, <\/em>where she explained\u00a0that it can be \u201ceasy to feel like a failure\u201d when so many people doubt you.<\/p>\n<section class=\"suitcase-ad\" \/>\n<p>\u201cIt can be hard not to believe them,\u201d she said.\u00a0\u201cI grew up with the internet. I use social media for the same reasons everyone else does, and you come across these videos saying you\u2019re ugly and you suck and you\u2019re terrible and that makes me feel like a failure. There are other things too, more concrete things, like when I disappoint myself, when I don\u2019t feel how I said I was going to feel, or do the things I said to myself I was going to do\u2026but failure is an interesting thing because, like success, it\u2019s really only in your head.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Billie\u2019s new concert film, <em>Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles, <\/em>arrived on Disney+ on Sept. 3.
