I\u2019ve never written a\u00a0lyric. Ever. I really haven\u2019t. I kind of just freestyle. I just go with it as it comes. I never\u00a0really wrote anything\u00a0down. I\u2019m not patient enough to sit and write.\u00a0It just takes a lot of my\u00a0day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Atlanta rapper went on to say that he\u2019s not a fan of writing, therefore the only time he\u2019s written lyrics are when he\u2019s been locked up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly time I\u2019ve had\u00a0the time to write lyrics down is when I\u2019ve been\u00a0incarcerated,\u201d Thug explained. \u201cEven if I\u00a0just have to go to jail\u00a0for a day or something.\u00a0I don\u2019t like writing and that\u2019s the only way I can write; if I just got time on my hands and there\u2019s nothing in\u00a0the world I could do.\u00a0And the only time you can be like that is like\u00a0prison, basically. Other\u00a0than that, there\u2019s always\u00a0something to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thugger\u2019s remarks can be viewed as an\u00a0extension of\u00a0what he told Complex in an\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stories.complex.com\/young-thug-punk-interview-2021\/5\/\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a>\u00a0in October, where he explained that with his latest album <em>Punk<\/em>, he\u2019s most focused on mastering the art of storytelling.\u00a0<\/p>\n<section class=\"suitcase-ad\" \/>\n<p>\u201cI usually don\u2019t show emotion, which is why my storytelling songs be so hard,\u201d he said. \u201cY\u2019all usually don\u2019t see nothing from me, so when you hear a song that\u2019s really serious, you\u2019re like, \u2018Oh my fucking God.\u2019 You remember a n***a human. Like, \u2018OK, he is human, and he\u2019s saying shit that we\u2019re really going through right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Punk<\/em> is just real life stories,\u201d he added. \u201cThe whole album is purified.
