She told Hall that it was difficult working exclusively with men, as she often felt like\u00a0a lack of support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was the only woman who worked there, too; I mean when it came to\u00a0producers, camera people\u2014and it wasn\u2019t an\u00a0easy room for me to be in,\u201d she said around the 7:50-minute mark. \u201cI feel like I did need more like backup\u00a0you know because even things that I felt, as a woman \u2026\u00a0somebody\u00a0can\u2019t understand your point of view because they\u2019re not coming from where you come from. So\u00a0that was hard\u00a0for me too, to be the only woman there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>DJ Envy\u2014who hosted the <em>Breakfast Club<\/em> with Yee and\u00a0<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\/tag\/charlamagne_tha_god\" rel=\"noopener\">Charlamagne tha God<\/a>\u2014responded to the clip shared by The Shade Room. He insisted Yee\u2019s comments were \u201cjust not true,\u201d and claimed \u201cthere are plenty of women that work behind the scenes on [The Breakfast Club].\u201d<\/p>\n<section class=\"suitcase-ad\" \/>\n<p>Elsewhere in the interview, Yee said a perk of doing a solo show was that she was only responsible for her own comments. She told Tamron she\u00a0was always held\u00a0accountable for her co-hosts\u2019 controversial takes, and would\u00a0often get the brunt of the backlash.<\/p>\n<section class=\"suitcase-ad\" \/>\n<p><span>\u201cSometimes I would feel like I got it harder than [Charlamagne tha God] did for some things that he said,\u201d Yee explained. \u201cAnd so I also want to make it clear that we\u2019re all three individuals. You say what you say, feel how you feel, and I do too. But it\u2019s hard because people affiliate you with the whole group.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lil Mama also weighed in on the interview, claiming Yee was not as innocent as she claimed to be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh PLEASE. She was up there playing foul games too,\u201d the artist commented. \u201cShe has helped make multiple women (of color especially) feel like the only woman in that room numerous times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yee has yet to publicly respond to Envy and Lil Mama\u2019s comments.
