Ye Shares ‘Skete Davidson’ IG Post After Reports of Kim & Pete Split
Written by SOURCE on August 8, 2022
Following reports alleging that Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have ended their well-publicized relationship, Ye has seemingly responded with a photoshopped New York Times front-page story.
The altered image, seen below, includes the playful headline “SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28,” which—as fans will note—is a reference to Ye’s once-ubiquitous nickname for Pete.
Also referenced in the Instagram-shared image, albeit in much smaller font, is Kid Cudi’s recent Rolling Loud Miami set. As previously reported, Cudi had replaced Ye on the lineup after the latter pulled out for what fest organizers described at the time as “circumstances outside of our control.”
“Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers,” the text reads.
While this will likely be posited as a continuation of Ye’s public campaign of sorts against Pete, who can currently be seen in this month’s A24 slasher Bodies Bodies Bodies, one could also view it instead as a marking of the end of the larger Skete Davidson era. In other words, perhaps the faux Times front-page image is intended to note that both the nickname itself and its related elements (which have included an animated Skete head, among other things) are being put to rest.
At any rate, it’s worth noting here that Ye has been largely inactive (at least directly) on social media as of late. In the meantime, speculation has continued to build surrounding the status of Donda 2, which was initially released in a work-in-progress form via Stem Player back in February.
