YG Drops ‘4Real 4Real’ Album f/ Meek Mill, Valee, Ty Dolla Sign, and More

Written by on May 24, 2019

YG’s fourth studio album was intended to be a surprise drop. But the plan was derailed following the tragic death of Nipsey Hussle.

“When the shit happened with the homie, I’m like, ‘Damn, I can’t put my album out, I can’t be promoting this shit,’” YG said during a recent interview with Big Boy. “[…] Then I’m thinking, like, ‘OK, I can’t drop my album. I gotta push it back.”

The project, titled 4Real 4Real, was initially scheduled to arrive in April to coincide with YG’s Coachella performance. It was then pushed back to May 3 and then, finally, to this Friday.

The Compton rapper not only dedicated 4Real 4Real to Nipsey, he has also pledged to donate its proceeds to benefit the late MC’s children.

“I’m giving his kids a percentage of every song on the album,” YG said. “By the time they get 18, from me, they’re gonna have a bag sitting there.”

You can stream 4Real 4Real now on Apple Music/iTunes and Spotify. The project includes the previously released singles “Stop Snitchin” and “Go Loko” featuring Jon Z and Tyga.
