YG Honors Late Friend Slim 400 With Tattoo of His Face

Written by on February 22, 2022

YG is paying his respects to Slim 400 in the most permanent way possible.

The Los Angeles rapper saluted his longtime friend Slim—who was fatally shot in Los Angeles back in December—with a new portrait of him inked on his leg, as shown in his Instagram Stories over the weekend.

While Ty Dolla Sign, Mozzy, Kamaiyah, and others paid tribute to Slim on social media, YG took it even further. His latest tattoo features a photo of Slim with a red bandana tied to his head, appropriately placed right below his massive red number “4” with the word “hunnid” sketched along the inside. In a caption, YG wrote “brazy blood, love you P Treez.” The pair have teamed up on multiple songs over their years in the game, including “Word Is Bond,” “Goapele,” “When I Was Gone,” and “G$FB.”

The West Coast rapper’s shooting took place in Inglewood, California before he was later pronounced dead after being rushed to a hospital on Dec. 8. Slim was only 33-years-old at the time of his death.

Getting a tattoo to honor a late friend isn’t entirely uncommon. Key Glock did it back in November following the shooting death of his collaborator Young Dolph. Glock ended up getting the tribute across his arm of a detailed Dolph image, and shared a photo of it to his Instagram Stories late last year with the caption “when they see me, they see you.”
