YG Shares Video for New Song “Maniac” Off Upcoming ‘I Got Issues’ Album

Written by on September 23, 2022

YG has shared a moody, darkly-lit music video for the new song “Maniac,” which is set to appear on his album I Got Issues when it drops next week.

The latest preview of YG’s sixth LP is another distinctively West Coast track. The Matt Zolly-directed visual taps into that energy, with YG cruising in a low-rider and performing in front of his crew.

“Maniac” comes not long after the tracklist for the project was revealed. Running a lean 14 tracks, the album is set to feature appearances from J. Cole, Roddy Ricch, Post Malone, Moneybagg Yo, H.E.R., Nas, Mozzy, D3szn, Duki, and Cuco. I Got Issues is scheduled to release on Sept. 30 via 4Hunnid and Def Jam.

In a tweet this week, YG expressed frustration that the tracklist had surfaced. “Def Jam be hire’n people to fuck up,” he wrote in all-caps. “All they do is fuck up. 😂 My track list for my album is not pose to be out. They suck real bad.”

In a recent interview with TMZ, YG revealed he’s been hoping to work with Nas for a long time. “He did his shit in his studio, he sent it. It was crazy ’cause I’ve been trying to get Nas on some shit for years,” he said. “I was trying to get him on my second album and shit, but it just didn’t happen. But he’s been showing love since day one, he always supported my shit and all that.”
