Yo Gotti Clears “Dolla Fo’ Dolla” Master so Verses Can Be Added, Money Made

Written by on February 7, 2022

Yo Gotti announced an innovative initiative Sunday, in which he will allow any aspiring artist to record a verse on his song “Dolla Fo’ Dolla,” and do with it as they please, whether that means posting their version on YouTube, or making the track available on Apple Music, Spotify, or Tidal. That person all gets to keep any revenue made from their version of the song.

“You make the paper from it, I ain’t even trippin’,” he said of the opportunity, which comes thanks to a partnership with Equity Distribution. “I own the masters of my record, I can do that shit for you. No label would ever do no shit like this.”

Earlier in the day, Gotti shared a few of his favorite contributions on Instagram, while also extending offers for studio time, paid college tuition, and money for their commissary.

This initiative appears to be spun off of the “Change a Rapper’s Life” challenge that he touched upon late last month. Gotti challenged rappers to lay their best verse to “Dolla Fo’ Dolla” for an opportunity to sign to his CMG Records imprint. “I’mma upload this song, whoever put the hardest verse on it, I’mma put you on my album, CM10,” he said. “If I fuck with you enough, might put you on the label.”

“Dolla Fo’ Dolla” comes off of Gotti’s latest studio album, CM:10 Free Game, which dropped on Friday. The double-disc project features appearances from Kodak Black, Moneybagg Yo, and 42 Dugg.
