Yo Gotti Says This Funk Flex Freestyle Is His First in a Decade

Before the arrival of his new album this Friday, Yo Gotti stopped by Hot 97 to deliver a freestyle for Funkmaster Flex. At the top, he admitted he hadn’t freestyled in around a decade, but that didn’t stop him impressing Flex.
“This my last album with Epic so get your bag,” he raps on the freestyle, hinting that he “may never ever drop again.”
He also took a moment to offer his condolences in the wake of Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant’s death. “RIP to Kobe, RIP to Gigi/Only went to the Grammys for the tribute to Nipsey,” he finished the freestyle.
This week, Gotti partnered with Team Roc to take legal action for the violence and poor cell conditions at Mississippi State Penitentiary. In a video released by Team Roc, graphic violence and the inhumane conditions from the infamous prison were on full display.
Gotti and Roc filed for an emergency protective order in federal court on behalf of the inmates. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves vowed to close the infamous Unit 29 at the prison, citing the need to keep prisoners safe.
Gotti’s anticipated new album, Untrapped, drops this Friday.
