I cannot believe I’m saying this but I’m genuinely rooting for Boston to overtake Choosin’ Texas simply because I want something new in the top region that isn’t going to drop off from there. I’m sick of these songs having “record breaking” weeks at number 1, they are present every year.
Sorry but it's boring to see Chossin Texas at 1, and a new Morgan song at 2, I hope some of the songs from "Petal" can enter next week! It would be amazing if she takes the spot with her second single

Songs from Ariana Grande’s new album ‘Petal’ should be present next week… stay tuned for that!
You know it’s bad when even Morgan can’t save us from the #1 spot being so stale for the past 6 weeks. Like yeah I don’t like seeing him grab another #1 but right now I was anticipating he would finally break the dry spell that Choosin’ Texas has led.
Is this really the goddamn song of the summer? No. This was a thing of the winter. It’s time for the radio to move on from this.
On a positive note, we should get some impact from ‘Petal’ next week, with ‘Hate That I Made You Love Me’ and the title track both aiming for the Top 3. It would’ve been nice to see Ariana set for #1 again and have more songs here, but at least the album is set to mark her biggest debut since 2019.
I’m impressed by how well ‘Dracula’ has held up with the big country takeover on the charts. At this rate, it’s very likely going to spend a full year on the Hot 100 before going recurrent. Never would’ve expected it to stick around this long, but good for Tame Impala and Jennie.
Man, the charts this summer are getting tedious. We’re starting August with the same #1 hit that we had nearly six months ago, and the only activity here is another high debut from Morgan Wallen. He literally put out a 37-track album just last May. I was hoping we’d get a much longer break from him.

2026 has to be the worst year of mainstream music, the songs are awful and there is barely any hit variety

Someone on Morgan Wallen's team is probably getting fired right now after "Been By Now" didn't get to #1
