Ngl, if 2026 remains this bland, I might have to take a brief break from commenting and chart-watching so regularly… not super long, since I know the enthusiasm would bounce back towards me eventually. But… I can’t lie, the week I’ve just had has been truly horrible in too many ways and I think I might need to just take a break and recover. It hasn’t gotten much better and I just hope y’all know I’m absolutely coming back at least before the fall season if I do need some time off. There’s just too much I’m dealing with.
No new songs in the Top 10 this week, but it’s nice to see ‘Dracula’ return to its peak and I could see it climbing higher as it’s getting really good radio numbers. Other than that, I hope ‘Homewrecker’ and ‘Midnight Sun’ will show up here soon. Both songs are fantastic and deserve to be bigger hits.
I’m glad that Olivia Rodrigo is doing well on streaming, but it’s a shame that she’s not getting much radio support for this era. Other than ‘Drop Dead’, all of her singles have less than a million weekly airplay audience. ‘The Cure’ should have way more than that after over a month since its release.

Incredibly, ‘Choosin’ Texas’ becomes the first non-holiday song in Hot 100 history to have six separate runs at #1. That’s a remarkable achievement, particularly for a female country artist. That said, I’m getting tired of it at the top now. It originally reached the summit all the way back in February.
