New tracking week, new top 10. Congrats ADÉLA on the top 10 hit! I remember seeing someone comment on whether or not she had a chan to even show up on the Hot 100 after Coachella week, and I thought “it’s definitely not her time yet,” but now I can happily say that I’m happy I was wrong.

Also, Dominic Fike’s “Babydoll” is back to the 11-20 range and I’m really puzzled by that (in no ways a shade lol). It peaked at #16 in April and seemed like it was about to leave the charts after Rodrigo week. Its streaming peak has long passed it, soo does anyone have any explanation why now?

A few weeks ago on one of these videos, you may remember I made the prediction that ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ was coming back to the top 10 when it seemed like it was slipping. I was very prepared for it to happen, my mind was set on it like it was practically confirmed. And I was sure this would be due to Toy Story 5 being added to Disney+.

Well, I’m surely left feeling silly about that now, because it’s dropping like a rock now, and it’ll probably be out of the top 30 before Halloween.

But what I wanna ask is… how? How did it drop so suddenly while it’s the same thing that got Cruel Summer to #1 (in the fall of 2023 after it had been in the top 10 for a few months already) when the Eras Tour movie was added to Disney+… sometimes I get puzzled as to how such boosts happen sometimes and other times they just play no part.

I suppose the charts aren’t as shallow and predictable in 2026 as I was beginning to think.

    Leaving this week:
    Kendrick Lamar – Backseat Freestyle
Ricky Martin – The Cup Of Life
    Entering this week:
    Mr. Bungle – Carousel
Slow Coast – I Can Be Wrong

Hey, so as you can clearly see, I decided this week to make some formatting additions to highlight some features that occur in my top 10. A song reaching a brand new peak (this doesn’t affect new debuts), and a song rebounding into the top 10 so it doesn’t get confused with a new rising entry, much like Carousel here which peaked over a month ago and is coming back for more. This should be an efficient way to polish these chart weeks up without it being too standardized and samey, and to display these features to stand out in a more fun way (hence why I added the emojis).

Have y'all noticed that no men have been at #1 on the hot 100 since early June? Probably makes a lot of sense since Drake made them all STFU instead of Janice.

Also it seems that an apology from me is in order for Ella Langley, because this new Drake version of her song is absolutely garbage. Like seriously dude what on earth even is this, and who wanted this?

  6. @jadenthemusicfreak   On   October 13, 2026 at 12:09 am

Nicole Kidman getting here was ABSOLUTELY well deserved! 😁 And about time as well!

This week is actually interesting and not totally stagnant and unbearable for once, which I'm glad to see. Not necessarily great, but interesting!

Sigh. After 24 weeks of ‘Choosin’ Texas’ at #1, we now have a Drake song that’s trying to interpolate it. For as much as the original got tiring months ago, at least Ella doesn’t sound like she’s about to fall asleep on it. I really want to welcome more new music in the Top 10, but I'm sorry, ‘Solar Eclipse’ is just bad.

Congratulations to Adéla on her first Top 10 hit and becoming the first Slovak artist in history to enter the region! She has so much potential as a popstar and her work ethic is incredible. Even if I think she has better songs, ‘Nicole Kidman’ has been growing on me a lot lately. Absolutely delighted for her!

With Billboard’s unusual schedule, it’s likely that this week will complete their tracking period for 2026, meaning it both started and finished with Taylor at #1. While I can’t say that this has been a particularly good year for the Top 10 at all, I’m glad it’s at least ending with a fair bit of movement.

Congratulations to Adéla on her first top 10 hit! I’m hoping it continues to climb, props to Taylor for keeping the top spot again, I think she has one more week at #1 in her before “Choosin’ Texas” returns
