Ordinary – "comfortable; an easy song to hear on the radio; it blends in"
Golden – "phenomenon; momentum is still really there; historic milestone"
The song of the summer should not be musical background noise. If your reason for Golden not being Song of the Summer is that it came out too late (movie out June 20th, so wrong…)then it is definitely no question song of the fall. 100% these songs are going to be what is popular at schools.
This is why radio plays should have as little impact on "Hot 100". People don't seek songs on the radio, they look for music to fill silence and hope for something they like.

Billboard feels threatened and continues to gatekeep themselves from real creativity and quality. If Golden was about getting freaky in the club or committing shootings and the club, they would be all over it. Their opinion deserves R Kelly's Golden Showers.

Airplay is a payoIa metric… that's bribe money for radio/playlist… which is illegal, but ignored.
It is No indication of music quality or popularity.
